Tottenham's Emerson Royal will undergo a knee injury.

Tottenham Hotspur's right wing-back, Emerson Royal will miss much of the rest of the season as he is set to undergo surgery on a knee injury.

The right-back played almost the full game on Saturday as Brazil lost 2-1 against Morocco in a friendly, before being withdrawn in stoppage time.

Emerson will have surgery and is expected to be sidelined for six weeks. He will have to race against time to feature again for Spurs this season, with the Premier League due to finish on May 28.

The right-back will, therefore, sit out each of Spurs' six Premier League games in April, the last three of which are against Newcastle, Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as the first two matches of May against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

Spurs would then have just two games remaining of the season, against Brentford on 20 May and Leeds eight days later on 28 May.
