Tonsillitis Forces Sinner Out of Olympics.

World number one Jannik Sinner has been forced to withdraw from the Paris Olympics due to tonsillitis. The unexpected illness has sidelined the tennis star, leaving fans disappointed and awaiting his return to form.

Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner, who struggled with illness during his Wimbledon quarter-final loss to Daniil Medvedev earlier in July, has withdrawn from the Paris Olympics due to tonsillitis.

Sinner, a top contender for the gold medal, had been in strong form this season, reaching the French Open semi-finals after winning his first major title at the Australian Open in January.

"I started feeling unwell after a good week of clay training," the 22-year-old posted on X. "The doctor diagnosed me with tonsillitis and advised against playing. Missing the Games is a huge disappointment, as it was a major goal for this season."

The tennis tournament runs from July 27 to August 4.
