Tonali's 10-Month Suspension Set to Conclude on August 28.

Newcastle United have announced that Sandro Tonali will be eligible to return on August 28 after serving a 10-month ban for violating betting regulations.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) imposed a ban on Sandro Tonali in October 2023 for breaching betting rules that prohibit players from betting on football events organized by FIGC, Uefa, and Fifa during his time in Italy.

The 24-year-old Italy midfielder, who joined Newcastle from AC Milan for £55m in July 2023, had already played 12 matches for the Magpies before the suspension.

Newcastle confirmed that Tonali’s ban will end on August 27.

Tonali could make his return in the Carabao Cup against Nottingham Forest, depending on the scheduling during that week. If not, his first match back could be a Premier League game against Tottenham on September 1.
