Posted 1 years agoIn what has been the latest development as per the reports, it is learned that the opening ceremony of the ICC World Cup 2023 will not take place.
The ceremony was reportedly slated to take place on 4th October at Narendra Modi Stadium Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
First, the criticism over the schedule of the World Cup, then the chaos over venues, then the ticket scam, one after another BCCI is feeling the heat over hosting the showpiece event 2023.
BCCI had planned the opening ceremony and even finalized stars such as Asha Bhosle, Ranveer Singh, Tamannah Bhatia, Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, and Arijit Singh for the opening night.
The latest reports suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) are likely to have a closing ceremony. The final of the ICC World Cup 2023 will take place on 19th November in Ahmedabad.
It is also learned that BCCI might organize a ceremony ahead of the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan.
The game between two arch-rivals will take place on 14th October at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The star-studded opening ceremony was scheduled to start at 7 PM, following the Captains' Day event at the Narendra Modi Stadium. While the Captains' Day event is still on track, no official announcement has been made regarding the cancellation.
During the Captain's Day celebration, all the captains of the teams participating in the Men's World Cup, including India's skipper Rohit Sharma, will be present in Ahmedabad.
