Textor Secures Exclusive Rights in Everton Takeover Bid.

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has given John Textor an exclusive period to negotiate the purchase of a majority stake in the Premier League club.

BBC Sport reports that while talks are ongoing about the potential deal, a final agreement is not yet close. John Textor is the newest contender to take over Everton after discussions with 777 Partners and the Friedkin Group fell through this summer.

The deal hinges on Textor selling his 45% stake in Crystal Palace, as Premier League rules prevent owning shares in more than one club.

Everton declined to comment when approached by BBC Sport. Manager Sean Dyche noted, "We can't influence the club's business dealings regarding a potential sale" while previewing their Premier League opener against Brighton.
