During the playoffs of the Tata IPL 2024, a remarkable green initiative took center stage. For every dot ball bowled by a player, the league pledged to plant 500 saplings.

This initiative not only added an exciting environmental angle to the matches but also highlighted the impact each player could have beyond the cricket field.

After the 2023 season's playoffs, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted about a similar initiative where 84 dot balls led to the planting of 42,000 saplings. It's great to see such eco-friendly efforts gaining momentum in cricket!

With the return of the green initiative this year, let's delve into the stats and discover who holds the title of the 'Greenest Bowler' in IPL 2024.

This remarkable bowler contributed to planting the highest number of saplings during the post-playoffs period, showcasing their commitment to both cricket and the environment.

After analyzing the bowling performances in the four playoff matches of IPL 2024 (Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and Final), it was found that T Natarajan bowled the most dot balls.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer played three playoff matches (Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, and the Final) and delivered a total of 26 dot balls in these games.

Specifically, Natarajan bowled 11 dots against Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 1, 13 dots against Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, and 2 dots in the final against KKR. His 26 dot deliveries contributed to planting 13,000 saplings, making him the 'Greenest Bowler' of IPL 2024.
