Swiatek Dominates Qualifier to Secure Third Round Spot.

Top seed Iga Swiatek cruised into the US Open third round with a decisive victory over Japanese qualifier Ena Shibahara.

Five-time major champion Iga Swiatek dropped just one game in her dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over Ena Shibahara, who managed to hold serve once in the second set.

Swiatek, 23, didn't face a single break point, finishing the match in just 65 minutes.

Meanwhile, former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina withdrew from her second-round match against Jessika Ponchet due to injuries, giving the French player a walkover. Rybakina expressed disappointment, stating she had to prioritize her health.

Ponchet will now face Caroline Wozniacki, who defeated Renata Zarazua 6-3, 6-3.

In other matches, Italy's Jasmine Paolini advanced after Karolina Pliskova retired only three points into their second-round match.
