Surrey Secure Shakib for Crucial Clash Against Somerset.

Surrey have brought in Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan for their crucial County Championship match against Somerset.

The 37-year-old all-rounder, considered one of Bangladesh's finest players, will join Surrey for their crucial County Championship match against Somerset starting Monday in Taunton.

Surrey are missing eight players due to England commitments, including Ollie Pope, Jamie Smith, Dan Lawrence, and Gus Atkinson, who are all on Test duty.

Surrey will also face Somerset in the T20 Blast semi-finals at Edgbaston on Saturday.

Surrey’s director of cricket, Alec Stewart, said, “Bringing in a player of Shakib’s quality was an easy decision. With many of our key players away on England duty, particularly our spinning all-rounders, Shakib’s experience and skill with both bat and ball will be invaluable.”

Shakib has scored over 4,500 runs in Test cricket at an average of 38 and has taken nearly 250 wickets.
