"I didn’t realize how huge it was at the time," Curtis Weston reflects. "Looking back, it was a massive moment in my life, even if it only lasted a few minutes."
In 2004, Curtis Weston made history as the youngest player to ever appear in an FA Cup final, at just 17 years and 119 days old—a record that still stands.
He came on for Millwall’s player-manager Dennis Wise in the 89th minute, as they trailed Manchester United 3-0 in Cardiff. It was only his second senior appearance.
Now 37, with over 300 Football League games behind him, Weston is preparing to play for non-league side Mickleover against Anstey Nomads in the FA Cup’s second qualifying round.
"It's a long way from the final," he says, "but the FA Cup still brings me so much joy."
