London Spirit clinched their first Hundred title in a nail-biting final, securing a thrilling four-wicket win over Welsh Fire at Lord’s.
The match kept fans on the edge of their seats as Spirit pulled off a dramatic finish to claim the coveted trophy.
Chasing 116, London Spirit needed four runs from the last three balls when Deepti Sharma delivered a game-changing moment, hitting Hayley Matthews over long-on for a six.
The match could have turned in Welsh Fire’s favor if not for a missed chance by bowler Shabnim Ismail, whose attempted catch burst through her hands and went for a boundary.
Ismail had earlier put Fire in contention with a standout performance, taking 3-24 by dismissing Meg Lanning, Heather Knight, and Danielle Gibson. However, Deepti's crucial hit secured the victory for Spirit at their home ground.
Knight's side had been in a strong position at the halfway mark, thanks to a superb bowling effort led by England spinners Sarah Glenn and Charlie Dean, which restricted Fire to 115-8 despite a solid half-century from Australian all-rounder Jess Jonassen.
As London Spirit felt the pressure of the chase, Danielle Gibson stepped up, hitting five fours in her first six balls to shift momentum in her team's favor.
Despite her impressive start, Gibson was soon out, bowled by Shabnim Ismail, and opener Georgia Redmayne was dismissed lbw by Freya Davies.
The match tightened, but Deepti Sharma came through with the decisive hit, securing the win with two balls to spare.
