London Spirit comfortably chased down a target of 100 to knock out Northern Superchargers from the women’s Hundred competition at Headingley.
Superchargers could have topped the table with a win in their final group match but fell short, failing to set a defendable total.
London Spirit took advantage, scoring the required runs in just 86 deliveries to move into the knockout stages.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the Superchargers struggled early, collapsing to 14-3 with Marie Kelly, Hollie Armitage, and Phoebe Litchfield all dismissed by Spirit bowlers.
Alice Davidson-Richards steadied the innings with partnerships of 30 with Annabel Sutherland and 39 with Georgia Wareham. However, Eva Gray removed Wareham and Bess Heath with her last two balls, and Davidson-Richards was bowled out by Danielle Gibson on the final ball, leaving the Superchargers at 99-7.
In reply, Linsey Smith took two wickets in consecutive deliveries and also caught Georgia Redmayne off her own bowling, reducing Spirit to 22-3.
