Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz grabbed his first Grand Slam title.

Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz grabbed his first U.S. Open title and first major crown of his career after smashing out Casper Ruud in the 2022 US Open final at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. It was his 51st tour-level win of the season.

Winning the title, Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest ever to climb to World No 1 in the ATP rankings as well as became the second youngest player to win the US Open title in the Open Era since Pete Sampras (1990).

The the 19-year-old Spaniard, Carlos knocked out Norway's Casper Ruud by 6-4 2-6 7-6(1) 6-3 at the rain soaked flushing meadows. He took about three hours and 20 minutes to wrap up the game.
