Spain Women clinched this year's Women's World Cup title by cruising past England in the final.

Captain Olga Carmona's single goal in the first half was enough for Spain to conquer this year's Women's World Cup title by cruising past England in the final at the Accor Stadium in Sydney.

Olga Carmona's well-taken strike in the first half was all Spain needed as they put in a strong and relentless performance, and also had a Jennifer Hermoso penalty saved in the second half.

England were dominant in their approach but Spain's brilliant effort did not let them equalize as inch closer to the victory.

Meanwhile, England came closest in the first half when Lauren Hemp was denied by the woodwork.

This was Spain's maiden World Cup title as England's wait for a World Cup triumph continues.
