Sindhu Bowing Out Early, Lakshya and Rajawat Progressing Strong in Indonesia Open 2024.

Indian badminton player P.V. Sindhu bowed out of the Indonesia Open after a defeat against Hsu Wen-chi from Chinese Taipei in the first round of the prestigious BWF Super 1000 tournament.

The two-time Olympic medalist and former world champion faced a setback in the women's singles competition, losing 15-21, 21-15, 14-21 to Wen-chi in a thrilling hour and 10-minute match. This marked her first defeat against Wen-chi.

In a thrilling women's doubles match, the Indian pair of Rutaparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda faced off against Korea's formidable sixth-seeded duo, Kim So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong. 

Despite putting up a strong fight, the Indian duo couldn't match the pace and precision of the Koreans, eventually losing 12-21, 9-21.

On the men's singles front, Lakshya Sen showcased his prowess with a swift victory over Japan's Kenta Tsuneyama in just 40 minutes, securing a spot in the second round of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 tournament. 

Meanwhile, Priyanshu Rajawat impressed by defeating former world No.6 HS Prannoy in an all-Indian clash, advancing confidently into the next round with a scoreline of 21-17, 21-12.
