Simone Biles Soars to Victory: Claims Third Olympic Gold in Vault.

American gymnast Simone Biles secured her third Olympic gold at the Paris Games with a stunning victory in the vault event.

Simone Biles, 27, added to her gold collection at the Paris Games after helping the USA win the women's team gold and taking the all-around title.

She reclaimed her vault title, first won in Rio 2016, by scoring an average of 15.300. Biles executed her signature Biles II vault perfectly and stuck her 'easier' vault, which still surpasses the difficulty of many competitors' best attempts.

Brazil's Rebeca Andrade, the Tokyo 2020 vault champion and a close rival to Biles, took silver with 14.966, while American Jade Carey earned bronze with 14.466. Biles had mentioned that competing against Andrade was 'stressful' due to her strong skills.

There was speculation that Andrade might attempt a new triple-twisting Yurchenko vault, but it did not happen.
