Shields Throws Down GWOAT Gauntlet to Taylor and Serrano.

Claressa Shields has called out Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano to settle the debate on who is the greatest woman fighter of all time by facing her in the ring.

Known as the GWOAT and hailed as one of the top boxers worldwide, Claressa Shields is set to make history as she aims to become a four-weight world champion this Saturday.

Stepping up to 12st 7lb (175lb), the undefeated American will vie for both the WBC heavyweight title and the WBO light-heavyweight belt.

At a pre-fight press conference in Detroit, Shields took the opportunity to challenge her rivals, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, sparking excitement about a potential showdown to determine the greatest woman fighter of all time.

“If any of those fighters want to claim the GWOAT title, all they need to do is step into the ring with me,” Shields declared.

“Alycia Baumgardner, Amanda Serrano, Katie Taylor—just make the fight happen. I’ll prove you’re not the GWOAT.”

Shields, 29, remains unbeaten in 14 pro fights and was the first to claim undisputed titles in two weight classes during the four-belt era. She’s a two-time Olympic champion and has held world titles in middleweight, light-middleweight, and super-middleweight.

Irish fighter Taylor matched Shields' undisputed feat last year, while Puerto Rican Serrano boasts seven world titles across different weight classes.

Shields commented on the debate of the Greatest Woman of All Time (GWOAT): “People debate who’s undefeated or who has the most belts. But the real GWOAT is someone who’s made big money on their own, fights the best, and performs well in any weight class. I can win at any weight—that’s what makes the GWOAT.”

The WBC title Shields is vying for is officially listed as ‘heavyweight’ but is actually contested at the light-heavyweight limit of 175 pounds.
