Sergio Perez clinched the pole postion at the practice session of Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

Red Bull's Sergio Perez has clinched the pole position ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc at the opening practice for Formula 1's 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix.

Sergio Perez comfortably crossed the finishing line and scripted the fastest time of 1:11.853s which left him atop the timesheets but less than a hundredth of a second covered the leading three drivers.

Perez ended up just 0.004s clear of Leclerc, with Max Verstappen third ahead of Carlos Sainz and Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
