Scholfield Steers Invincibles to Victory Over Originals.

Paige Scholfield's unbeaten 48 led the Oval Invincibles to a crucial seven-wicket victory over the Manchester Originals.

Chasing 126 at Old Trafford, the Oval Invincibles were struggling at 60-3 when Paige Scholfield entered the crease.

The South African-born right-hander then formed an unbeaten 67-run partnership with Marizanne Kapp, securing the win with seven balls to spare.

Amanda-Jade Wellington stood out among the Invincibles' bowlers, taking 2-22, including the crucial wicket of Originals opener Laura Wolvaardt. Wolvaardt had accelerated to 38 from 28 balls before Ryana MacDonald-Gay's superb low catch off Wellington's bowling halted her progress.

Despite a late flourish from Originals captain Sophie Ecclestone, who scored an entertaining 26 not out from 15 balls, the team couldn't defend their total.

The Originals' bowlers managed to gain some ground, but they couldn't break the Scholfield-Kapp partnership, resulting in their third loss of the season.
