Sarfaraz Khan, the rising batting sensation, and wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel have been included in Group C of the BCCI's central contract, earning an annual retainer fee of Rs 1 crore. They met the criteria by playing three Tests in the current season.
Sarfaraz, a key player for Mumbai in domestic cricket, hit three half-centuries in three Tests against England.
Meanwhile, Jurel from Agra showcased his talent with scores of 90 and an unbeaten 39 in a challenging chase at Ranchi, earning him the Player of the Match award in just his second game.
The ratification of the central contract was on the agenda, and both Sarfaraz and Jurel have successfully made the cut.
BCCI is planning to reconsider the Ranji Trophy schedule for the upcoming season. They are leaning towards avoiding matches in the northern region during December and January due to fog and bad light issues that can disrupt play.
Although the full domestic schedule will be revealed later, the BCCI Apex Council has already discussed the tentative plan for the 2024-25 season. This was a significant topic on the agenda during the recent Apex Council meeting.
