Salisbury & Ram Face First US Open Defeat Since 2020.

Briton Joe Salisbury and American Rajeev Ram experienced their first US Open loss since 2020, ending their three-year winning streak at Flushing Meadows.

The men's doubles champions from 2021, 2022, and 2023, Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram, were defeated 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 in the third round by American 13th seeds Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow. Their loss at this year's US Open ended a 20-match winning streak in New York, with their last defeat prior to Monday coming in the 2020 semi-finals.

Salisbury and Ram also won the Australian Open in 2020, along with their three US Open titles. However, they have faced challenges in recent major events, exiting early at the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon since their third US Open win last year.

On Monday, Neal Skupski was the only Briton to advance at Flushing Meadows, teaming with New Zealand’s Michael Venus to beat Americans Emilio Nava and Tristan Boyer 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 and reach the fourth round.

Wimbledon champion Henry Patten and his partner Harri Heliovaara were eliminated in round three, losing 6-2, 6-2 to 11th seeds Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic.
