In a stunning move, Ferrari's Carlos Sainz is set to join Williams for the 2025 season on a "multi-year" contract. This high-profile switch promises to bring fresh energy and excitement to Williams as they welcome the talented driver into their ranks.
Racing fans are eagerly anticipating how Sainz's experience and skill will impact the team's performance in the upcoming seasons.
Carlos Sainz, 29, is leaving Ferrari after losing his seat to Lewis Hamilton. Instead of joining Alpine or Sauber, which will become Audi's factory team in 2026, Sainz chose Williams for his next venture.
Sainz expressed confidence in his new team: "Williams is the right place for me to continue my F1 journey. I'm extremely proud to join such a historic and successful team, where many of my childhood heroes made their mark on our sport."
Despite missing out on opportunities with Red Bull and Mercedes, Sainz remains optimistic: "Bringing Williams back to the front of the grid is a challenge I embrace with excitement. Starting January 1, I'll give my best to drive Williams forward."
Since joining Ferrari in 2021, Sainz has won three grands prix. However, Ferrari has been more committed to Charles Leclerc, and when the chance to sign Hamilton arose, Sainz lost his spot.
