After facing Owen Farrell many times, Finn Russell looks forward to the opportunity to join forces with him on the 2025 British and Irish Lions tour to Australia.
Owen Farrell's move to Racing 92 means he won't be available for international matches during his two-year stint in Paris. However, with his father, Andy, set to coach the Lions, Farrell could still be chosen for the 2025 tour to Australia.
Scotland’s Finn Russell, 31, hopes to add to his lone Lions cap from 2021, a year when he and Farrell formed a good bond.
Russell said, "Though we see the game differently and there might be some clashes, we’re good friends and can work through it. Owen’s a fantastic player, and I’d love to play alongside him."
Russell found Farrell’s intense reputation was not apparent when they played together in 2021. "We’ve always had a competitive edge when facing each other, but it’s always been fun," he added.
