Rider Fatality in Manx Grand Prix Qualifying Crash.

Organizers have confirmed that a competitor has died following a crash during the first qualifying session of the 2024 Manx Grand Prix.

Irish rider Louis O’Regan tragically lost his life after a crash at Kate’s Cottage on the mountain section of the 37.73-mile (60km) Manx Grand Prix course around 16:50 BST. 

The 43-year-old, who resided in Didcot, England, first competed in the event in 2013, earning a 12th place finish in that year's Newcomers A Race.

Race organizers expressed their profound sadness, extending “heartfelt condolences to Louis’s partner Sarah, his family, loved ones, and friends” in a statement.

The opening qualifying session of the 2024 Manx Grand Prix was not resumed after a red flag incident.

Organizers released a statement with deep sadness, confirming that 43-year-old Louis O’Regan had died from injuries sustained in a crash at Kate’s Cottage. 

O’Regan, originally from Ireland but living in Didcot, England, had been a seasoned competitor since his debut in the 2013 Newcomers A Race, where he finished 12th. He set his personal best lap speed of 114.7mph in the 2019 Junior Race.

The statement concluded with heartfelt condolences to Louis’s partner Sarah, his family, and his friends.
