England women's head coach John Mitchell believes his team "deserve better than playing in front of empty crowds" as worries mount over slow ticket sales for the WXV1 tournament in Vancouver.
On the same day World Rugby celebrated selling 55,000 tickets for the 2025 Rugby World Cup in England, there was silence on the ticket numbers for this week's WXV1 matches in Canada.
The contrast has sparked concern, raising questions about fan interest in the Vancouver tournament.
"We have a responsibility to ensure we play in front of crowds," said Mitchell. "The Red Roses deserve better because they offer a great product."
England will kick off their WXV1 title defense against the United States on Sunday, followed by matches against world champions New Zealand and hosts Canada in the next two weekends.
