Real Madrid's Title Defense Stumbles as Mallorca Holds Them on Opening Day.

Kylian Mbappé’s much-anticipated La Liga debut didn’t go as planned, as defending champions Real Madrid were surprisingly held to a draw by Mallorca on the opening day.

Despite the star-studded lineup and Mbappé's presence, Mallorca’s resilience stole the spotlight, dampening the excitement of Madrid's new season kickoff.

France captain Kylian Mbappé marked his Real Madrid debut with a goal in the UEFA Super Cup, helping his team to a 2-0 victory over Atalanta. However, in his first La Liga match, the summer signing from PSG couldn’t find the net.

Rodrygo opened the scoring with a brilliant finish from Vinicius Jr’s backheel, but Mallorca equalized through Vedat Muriqi's header. Madrid’s Ferland Mendy saw red late in injury time for a foul on Muriqi.

Despite a few close attempts, including a shot saved by Mallorca’s keeper, Mbappé couldn't break through in his first domestic league appearance outside France.
