Inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals registered an emphatic 57-run win over Delhi Capitals in match number 11 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in Guwahati.
Opening the innings after Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner opted to bowl first, young Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave RR a blazing start by putting on 98 runs for the first wicket in just 8.3 overs.
While Jaiswal slammed 60 off 31 balls, the seasoned Buttler struck 79 in 51 deliveries. Later, Shimron Hetmyer blasted a 21-ball 39 not out and finally posted a competitive score of 199 losing four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, the Delhi Capitals were restricted to 142 for nine in the allotted overs. Skipper Warner played his own role by scoring an explosive 65 runs but they fell short by 57 runs.
For Rajasthan Royals, New Zealand seamer Trent Boult and Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal demolished the DC's by scalping three wickets each.
