Rahul Dravid, former India captain, was announced as the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals for a multi-year contract on Friday.
Dravid's stint as India's head coach concluded in June with the team winning the T20 World Cup for the second time.
PTI recently reported that Dravid was preparing to join the Rajasthan Royals.
"The former Royals captain and coach, who was with the franchise from 2011 to 2015, will start immediately. He will work with Kumar Sangakkara, the Royals' director of cricket, to shape the team's overall strategy," the franchise stated.
