Jon Rahm has boosted his Ryder Cup prospects by appealing the fines imposed on him by the DP World Tour.
To keep his Ryder Cup hopes alive, Jon Rahm had to either pay or appeal the fines imposed by the DP World Tour. He chose to appeal, allowing him to play in the three DP World Tour events required to maintain his membership and Ryder Cup eligibility.
With the deadline for entering the Spanish Open on September 26 approaching, Rahm decided to challenge the fines.
A DP World Tour spokesman confirmed that Rahm’s appeal is pending and that he remains eligible for the Open de Espana.
Rahm’s decision mirrors that of his Ryder Cup and LIV teammate Tyrrell Hatton, who also contested his fines and played in the British Masters earlier this month.
Both were fined for participating in LIV Golf events that clashed with DP World Tour tournaments without prior permission.
