Rafael Nadal becomes the oldest man champion after beating Casper Ruud in the French Open 2022. He won the 14th French Open and record-extending 22nd Grand Slam.
The 36-years old, Nadal beats his rival by 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 with victory coming after 17 years he clinched his first French Open as a 19-year-old in 2005.
Nadal has a record of winning his last 11 games of final and he is probably two Slams ahead of the rival champions Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
According to previous records Andre Gimeno (34) was the oldest man to win French Open in 1972, but Nadal breaks his record too after winning the slam at 36-years-old.
"For me personally, it is very difficult to describe the feelings that I have. It is something that I have never believed. To be here at 36, being competitive again on the most important court of my career," Nadal said during the trophy ceremony.
"One more title means a lot. It means a lot of energy to try and keep going. I don't know what can happen in the future but I am going to keep fighting to try and keep going," he added to his comment.
