Rafael Nadal hoping to be fit for Wimbledon.

Rafael Nadal will undergo a new medical treatment to resolve his serious foot injury pain ahead of Wimbledon.

The world No 5 won a record 22nd Grand Slam title at the French Open on Sunday and revealed that he had been playing with anesthesia injections in the nerve of his foot to numb the pain.

A spokesman for the Spaniard said that Nadal travelled to Barcelona to begin "pulsed radiofrequency stimulation" treatment, which is aimed at reducing nerve pain.

The top-ranked Spaniard said in a statement Tuesday that after two days of medical tests in Barcelona he has decided to try physical therapy to prepare for the tournament, which starts June 22.

Nadal said that he will give his 200 percent effort to be fit for the most prestigious tournament in the World.
