Rabada Forced to Exit IPL Early Due to Lower Limb Soft Tissue Infection.

Kagiso Rabada had to leave the IPL on Sunday due to a soft tissue infection in one of his lower limbs. However, he's anticipated to recover in time for the entire T20 World Cup.

Rabada played 11 matches for the Punjab Kings in the IPL, grabbing 11 wickets with an economy rate of 8.85. However, he won't be part of their remaining two matches since PBKS is out of the playoffs race.

He returned to South Africa and consulted a specialist due to his soft tissue infection.

The Cricket South Africa (CSA) statement mentioned that Rabada is under close observation by the medical team as he prepares for the upcoming World Cup.

Rabada's presence is crucial for South Africa because he's the only black African player in the 15-man provisional squad, a fact that's drawn attention due to CSA's diversity targets.

The national team is required to have, on average, six players of color in each XI per season, with at least two being black African. However, in the T20 World Cup squad, South Africa falls short with just one black African player out of six players of color.

Rabada's consistent participation in every game is necessary to maintain progress toward meeting these targets.

The team will have an opportunity to improve the average during the 2024-25 season.
