The Dallas Cowboys have reached a contract extension with quarterback Dak Prescott, set to make him the highest-paid player in NFL history.
Dak Prescott, 31, has agreed to a four-year contract extension reportedly worth $240 million (£183 million), with $231 million (£176 million) guaranteed and an $80 million (£61 million) signing bonus.
With an average of $60 million (£46 million) per season, Prescott becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history, surpassing the $55 million (£42 million) deals of Joe Burrow, Jordan Love, and Trevor Lawrence.
The $231 million guaranteed is also a record, slightly edging out the $230 million given to Deshaun Watson in 2022.
The deal, running through 2028, was announced just hours before Dallas kicked off their season with a 33-17 win over the Browns on Sunday.
