Matthew Potts delivered a career-best 9-68, leading Durham to a dominant innings and 63-run win over Lancashire at The Riverside.
Starting the day at 155-4 and needing 190 more runs to avoid their fourth defeat of the season, Lancashire quickly lost their last six wickets and were all out for 282.
The lone bright spot for the visitors was 20-year-old Matty Hurst, who scored 67, marking his second fifty of the match and fifth of the season.
Potts almost completed a hat-trick during his remarkable spell, taking three wickets in four balls. He finished the game with 12-126, dismissing Anderson Phillip to end the innings.
Lancashire’s collapse began when George Balderson was out lbw to Potts for 16. The situation worsened as Venkatesh Iyer played on and Tom Hartley lost his off-stump.
Bailey, who narrowly avoided a hat-trick, was out caught, leaving Lancashire struggling at 195-8.
