Jessica Pegula, the home favourite, made an impressive comeback to reach the US Open final, where she will face world number two Aryna Sabalenka.
American Jessica Pegula rallied from a set, a break, and a break point down to defeat Karolina Muchova 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, earning her first major singles final.
She will face Aryna Sabalenka, who reached her second consecutive US Open final with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) win over Emma Navarro.
Sabalenka is the first woman to achieve back-to-back singles finals at Flushing Meadows since Serena Williams in 2019.
Sabalenka, who playfully chided the crowd for supporting Navarro during her match, will face a boisterous home crowd cheering for Pegula on Saturday.
"Well now you're cheering for me, it's a bit too late," Sabalenka joked during her post-match interview.
