Paris Olympics 2024: Tulika Mann's Judoka Journey Cut Short with Opening Round Defeat.

Indian judoka Tulika Mann’s Olympic journey ended in the opening round of the women’s +78kg event at the Paris Games on Friday. She faced a tough challenge against London Games champion Idalys Ortiz from Cuba, resulting in an early exit from the competition.

The 25-year-old judoka from Delhi, who won silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, was defeated by Cuban champion Idalys Ortiz at the Champ-de-Mars Arena.

Ortiz, a four-time Olympic medalist, won with a decisive 0-10 ippon in just 28 seconds, trapping Tulika in a chokehold.

Tulika, who lost her father as a toddler and is raised by her widowed mother, faced a challenging opponent in this brief match.
