Paris Olympics 2024: Amit Rohidas Receives One-Match Ban, Will Miss India's Hockey Semi-Final.

India's crucial defender and first rusher, Amit Rohidas, will miss tomorrow's men's hockey semifinal against Germany in Paris.

He received a one-match suspension after a red card in the quarterfinal against Great Britain.

With Amit Rohidas sidelined, India will face the crucial semifinal against Germany with just 15 players—a significant blow for the eight-time Olympic champions. This reduction in squad strength could impact their strategy and performance in this pivotal match.

"Amit Rohidas has been suspended for one match due to a breach of the FIH Code of Conduct during the India vs. Great Britain game on August 4," the FIH announced.

"This suspension will impact match No. 35 (India's semifinal against Germany), meaning Rohidas will be absent, and India will compete with just 15 players." Rohidas was sent off nearly 40 minutes from the end of the game against Great Britain after an accidental stick clash with an opponent.
