Para-swimmer Alice Tai wins gold in the S8 100m backstroke at CWG 2022.

English Para-swimmer Alice Tai clinch her second Commonwealth Games gold medal in the Women's 100m Backstroke S8 final in Birmingham CWG 2022.

Alice Tai stormed to victory by clocking 1:13:64 to win by more than four seconds.

Tai is a Paralympic champion and seven-time gold medalist at the World Championships.

An elbow injury prevented her from defending her Paralympic crown in Tokyo a year ago, and she started this year with surgery to amputate her foot. Despite her surgery she fought hard throughout the event and clinch the gold medal for her country.

After winning the sensational gold in the 100m backstroke S8, Tai said she is now looking forward to pushing on with her career and is focusing on Paris 2024.
