Osaka Triumphs in Emotional Comeback at US Open.

Naomi Osaka made a heartfelt return to the US Open with a thrilling first-round victory over Jelena Ostapenko.

Naomi Osaka, a two-time US Open champion, returned to Flushing Meadows with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Latvian 10th seed Jelena Ostapenko in just 63 minutes.

Osaka, who won her first Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2018 and defended it in 2020, missed last year's tournament after giving birth to her daughter, Shai. Watching from the stands reignited her passion for the game.

After her victory, Osaka was moved to tears of joy and relief, covering her face with her towel. In her on-court interview, she admitted, "I was trying not to cry when I was walking out. I remember watching Coco [Gauff] play last year and desperately wanting to be back on these courts."
