Tunisia's tennis sensation Ons Jabeur won her fifth career title at the Ningbo Open with a commanding victory over teenager Diana Shnaider.
Ons Jabeur comfortably knocked out Diana Shnaider by 6-2, 6-1 in a thrilling final enounter in China. The title victory in China is her first hard court title of her career.
Moscow-born Shnaider had managed to defeat two-time Wimbledon single titles champion Petra Kvitova, 33, on the way to her maiden career final in just her ninth WTA main draw.
However, despite her brave approach during the tournament, Shnaider was emphatically defeated by the powerful and precise Tunisian in just 78 minutes.
Jabeur has now won titles on grass (Birmingham 2021, Berlin 2022), clay (Madrid 2021, Charleston 2022) and hard courts. She had previously lost three hard-court finals, one indoor (Moscow 2018) and two outdoor (Chicago 2021, US Open 2022).
