Tunisian second seed Ons Jabeur bounced back and clinched victory after dropping the first set against United States Jessica Pegula by 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 at the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas.
It was just the second win in the past nine matches against a top-10 opponent for Jabeur.
On the other hand, World number five Maria Sakkari comfortably progressed into the last four of the WTA Finals after smashing out seventh-seeded Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus by 6-2, 6-4 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Only the top-two players from both round-robin groups advance to the knockout stages of the eight-player tournament.
