Olympic medalist Nijel Amos has been provisionally suspended from participating in the World Athletics Championships after failing in drug test.
The 28-year-old, Nijel Amos won silver in the 800m at the 2012 London Games and gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, failed an out-of-competition test last month. As a result, The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) provisionally suspended Nijel Amos of Botswana with immediate effect.
The drug found in the 28-year-old's system was GW1516, which modifies how the body metabolizes fat and the World Anti-Doping Agency has said it poses a health risk to athletes.
