Olympic Champion Tom Dean Makes Waves as First Contestant on Strictly.

British swimmer Tom Dean has made a splash by announcing he'll join this year's Strictly Come Dancing line-up, becoming the first celebrity to confirm their participation.

This Olympic champion is ready to trade the pool for the dance floor, adding some gold-medal flair to the show.

Dean, 24, helped Team GB win the men's 4x200m freestyle title at the Paris Olympics earlier this week. He will compete in the men's 200m individual medley final on Friday.

"Naturally, you want to take a break after a full Olympic cycle, and the opportunity arose," he said about joining Strictly. "I thought it would be really exciting to try something different."

The BBC has not confirmed Dean's appearance, stating that "celebrity contestants for this year will be announced in due course."
