Ohtani’s Historic 50th Home Run Ball Hits the Market for $4.5M.

The ball Shohei Ohtani used to hit his historic 50th home run of the MLB season is now up for auction.

Last Thursday, Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani etched his name in baseball history by becoming the first player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season.

Now, the ball that marked this monumental achievement is up for grabs! The starting bid is set at $500,000 (£375,000), but for those with deeper pockets, there's a private purchase option available for a staggering $4.5 million (£3.4 million). 

If sold at that price, it would shatter the current record for a baseball, which stands at $3.05 million (£1.9 million) for Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball from 1998.
