Esteban Ocon, who's been a stalwart at Alpine for five seasons, is set to part ways with the French team by the year's end.
Ocon's departure from Alpine follows a clash with teammate Pierre Gasly during the Monaco Grand Prix's first lap, which reportedly upset team principal Bruno Famin.
Ocon expressed gratitude for the team's support and acknowledged both the highs and lows of their time together. Famin emphasized their ongoing commitment for the remaining 16 races of 2024, aiming for strong on-track results.
Alpine and Ocon presented their split as a mutual decision, as stated in a joint statement. While the Monaco incident didn't directly cause the separation, it solidified a decision that had been under discussion for months.
