Novak Djokovic sealed his spot in the Italian Open quarterfinals by cruising past Cameron Norrie.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic comfortably made his way into the Italian Open quarterfinals after edging past British number one Cameron Norrie.

Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, knocked out No 13 seed Cameron Norrie by 6-3, 6-4 to seal his spot in the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters at the Foro Italico.

The current world No 1, Novak Djokovic is now through to the last eight in Rome for the 17th consecutive year.

Djokovic, ranked No 1, will face the winner of the match between Australian qualifier Alexei Popyrin and Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed, next.

It will be the 91st ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final of Djokovic's career.
