Norris Tops Verstappen in Spanish GP Practice Session.

Lando Norris of McLaren led the way in the first practice session at the Spanish Grand Prix, outpacing Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing.

Lando Norris topped the timesheets in the first practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix, edging out world champion Max Verstappen by just 0.024 seconds. Both drivers set their fastest laps using the 'soft' tyre.

Carlos Sainz of Ferrari secured the third-fastest time, trailing by 0.344 seconds while utilizing the medium tyre. Meanwhile, George Russell from Mercedes secured the fourth spot, also using the medium tyre.

Following them were Sergio Perez from Red Bull, Oscar Piastri from McLaren, and Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes.

Both Red Bull and Ferrari introduced significant upgrades to their cars for the upcoming series of races across Europe in Formula 1. However, Charles Leclerc expressed dissatisfaction with his Ferrari during the session, describing it as "horrendous."

Among the drivers, only Sainz had the full upgrade package on his car for the first session. Leclerc had some upgrades but not the new floor, diffuser, and engine cover.

The Spanish Grand Prix marks the beginning of three consecutive race weekends, followed by events in Austria and Silverstone. After a one-week gap, the series continues with races in Hungary and Belgium before the August break.
