Ngannou: 'I Haven't Abandoned MMA or Boxing'.

Francis Ngannou insists he has 'never left MMA' and is keeping the option open to continue his boxing career as well.

Ngannou will face Renan Ferreira on October 19 in his first MMA fight since January 2022, following two boxing matches. Although he lost to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, Ngannou clarifies that he's not making a 'comeback' to MMA.

'I never left MMA. I haven't left boxing either,' Ngannou told BBC Sport. 'I'm not returning to MMA; I never left it. That’s the confusion.'

Ngannou holds a 17-3 record in MMA with 12 knockout wins, while Ferreira, 34, has 11 knockouts in 13 victories.
