New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka: Kane Williamson took a horrendous review for lbw despite a massive inside edge.

Possibly the worst DRS of the 2023 World Cup was taken by Kane Williamson on Thursday in Bengaluru, during New Zealand's crucial match against Sri Lanka.

However, the Kiwi skipper was truly convinced by Daryl Mitchell, who tempted him more than anyone else to make a call.

Sri Lanka were reduced to 113-8 and had the side on the mat in the crucial match that would go some way in determining whether or not New Zealand would secure the fourth semi-final spot.

Desperate to get the rivals out for a low score so they could attain a stronghold over their Net Run Rate, New Zealand took a horrendous review, the result of which left the fielders in splits.

There were two reviews left, and Mitchell, without thinking twice, started signaling 'T' after the LBW appeal. Williamson trusted his senior player and confirmed the same to the on-field umpire, Joe Wilson.

Then the replay appeared on the big screen, and after watching what actually happened, all the Kiwi players were in complete disbelief with smiles on their faces.

It brought New Zealand’s success rate with the DRS while bowling in the tournament to 22.22 percent, which dropped further to 20 percent after another unsuccessful review in the 32nd over.
