New Zealand has claimed the T20 series by 2-1 after a dramatic win over Sri Lanka.

New Zealand has comfortably claimed an emphatic four wickets victory over Sri Lanka in their third T20 match at Sir John Davies Oval, Queenstown.

With the sensational win, New Zealand claimed the three-match T20 series by 2-1.

In the final T20 match, New Zealand won the toss and let Sri Lanka bat first. Quick and magnificent 73 runs from Kusal Mendis guided Sri Lanka to post the competitive score of 182 runs losing six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

In reply, New Zealand took control of the game from the start of their inning and comfortably achieved the target in 19.5 overs losing six wickets.

Tim Seifert played an incredible inning of 88 runs on just 48 balls which helped his team to win the final T20 match as well as the series.

The hosts have defeated Sri Lanka in both the preceding test and the one-day international series by a 2-0 margin.
