In a thrilling game one of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers with a final score of 133-128 in overtime.
Jaylen Brown of the Celtics hit a crucial three-pointer with six seconds left, tying the score at 117-117 and sending the game into overtime at the TD Garden in Boston.
Jayson Tatum, who ended the game with 36 points, scored another three-pointer along with Derrick White's lay-up in the final minute, securing the victory for the top-seeded Celtics.
"It's NBA playoffs time, anything can happen," said Brown, who contributed 26 points to the win. "We kept fighting until the very end and found a way to win."
The Pacers had 21 turnovers, including one just before Brown's game-changing three-pointer.
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle took responsibility for the loss, admitting he should have called a timeout before Brown's shot.
Game two is set for Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Thursday.
The series winner will advance to face either the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals starting on June 6.
